The Benefits Do Not Share One Renewal Date

Some features follow the account anniversary, others use multiyear or promotional deadlines, and ordinary rewards follow transaction posting.

Hotel Credit Uses the Account Year

Eligible Chase Travel hotel charges can receive statement credits up to the current annual limit under the program rules.

Trusted-Traveler Credit Uses a Longer Cycle

An eligible Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS application fee can qualify only at the stated multiyear interval.

Partner Benefits Need Activation

Streaming, delivery, and other partner offers can have enrollment deadlines, service conditions, and separate expiration dates.

Category Rates Follow the Purchase

The merchant category, booking channel, transaction type, and exclusions determine how many points are earned.

Credited Spending May Not Earn Points

A purchase covered by a statement-credit benefit can be excluded from rewards under the applicable terms.

The Annual Fee Is a Real Cost

Credits and points should be valued only when they replace spending the cardholder would otherwise make.

Maintain a Four-Line Benefit Calendar

The calendar should show when value becomes available, how it is triggered, and when it expires.

  • Account-Year Credits

Track hotel and other anniversary-based benefits from the account-opening date rather than the calendar year.

  • Multiyear Reimbursements

Record the last eligible trusted-traveler credit and the next date on which another can qualify.

  • Promotional Partner Deadlines

Save activation and end dates for temporary entertainment, delivery, or merchant benefits.

  • Annual Net Value

Subtract the annual fee, interest, and unused benefits from the realistic value of credits and redeemed points.

A Sapphire Preferred Account-Year Calendar

A timing-based method for organizing updated credits, category rewards, partner offers, and annual cost.

Chase Sapphire Preferred® currently earns different rates through Chase Travel, dining, gas and EV charging, selected streaming, online grocery, vacation-home partners, other travel, and general purchases. Category definitions and exclusions matter.

The current benefit set includes an account-year Chase Travel hotel credit and a less-frequent application-fee credit for specified trusted-traveler programs. Each uses its own eligible charge, timing rule, and maximum.

Temporary partner benefits can require activation before a published deadline and may end independently from the cardmember year. Save enrollment confirmations and reassess the benefit before it renews or expires.

Value only the rewards and credits that fit existing travel and household plans. Then subtract the annual fee and any interest because unused perks and financed balances can turn a strong headline into weak net value.

This independent page is educational and is not a credit offer, application, personalized recommendation, approval promise, or benefit guarantee. A credit agreement requires legal capacity. Chase's current pricing, rewards agreement, offer terms, and benefit guides prevail.
